The Albert Oldendorff (93,272 tdw) was originally built as a standard bulk carrier in 2010 and purchased by Oldendorff Carriers in 2019. She was renamed and converted to a transshipment vessel to serve our Bangladesh project which will commence at the end of 2022.
In the interim Albert Oldendorff is an ideal solution for complementing EGAs bauxite export operation in Kamsar (Guinea) where she accommodates the loading of large Capesize vessels.
The operation requires the transshipment vessels to be loaded at the draft restricted CBG berth. The Albert Oldendorff then sails out to the deep sea anchorage and utilizes her three cranes to transfers bauxite from her own holds onto ocean going vessels. Throughout the transshipment operations Albert Oldendorff achieves transshipment rates of up to 40,000 metric tons per day and assists EGA in fulfilling their export goals by providing reliable transshipment services at near to zero downtime.
