RESPONSIBLE SHIPPING

OLDENDORFF CARRIERS is committed to sustaining the environment we live and work in. We focus on three major areas:

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE (SAFETY & SECURITY)

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY & HEALTH (GREEN SHIPS)

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Our standards meet and exceed the requirements of the ISO 9001 Standard, the ISM-Code, the ISPS-Code, ILO Maritime Labour Convention 2006, and other applicable rules and regulations. This is continuously certified by DNV-GL.

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE (SAFETY)

Operational Excellence includes safety, security and quality; preserving the environment and excellent performance. Safety is a very important part of our culture; we maintain all our assets to very high standards to provide a safe working environment for employees and guests. Preventing accidents is the best way to look after the wellbeing of our employees. Being safe is also a means of preserving the environment.

We take security of our people and assets very seriously, we follow detailed security procedures. Quality is prevalent in everything we do, we strive to do it right the first time. We are very proud of our training programs and systems which are the most important factor in achieving operational excellence.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
(GREEN SHIPS)

We live and work on the oceans and we are dedicated to preserving and maintaining our environment.

We are reducing our carbon footprint by swapping 90% of our fleet capacity into a new generation of “eco” ships, reducing fuel consumption by 20%. Our “Greenship Project” is all about reducing CO2 emissions via fuel saving devices, performance monitoring, low-friction paint and trim optimization.

Energy efficiency is a key driver in Oldendorff’s commitment to sustainable shipping. Although moving cargo by sea is by far the most environmentally-friendly method of long-distance mass transportation, we strive to reduce the environmental impact of our operations. We do this by fostering and maintaining a working culture of energy efficiency and environmental awareness and through acknowledging our environmental footprint both onboard and ashore.

Social Responsibility

Oldendorff understands and appreciates the fact that it has a moral obligation to the communities in which it operates, as part of fulfilling its responsibility of being a good corporate citizen. It is with this in mind that we engage in a wide range of activities that contribute to the wellbeing of the communities in which we operate. A few examples of recent community support and involvement in areas we operate include:
